Clubs for the Cause

Even the most faithful patrons of a not-for-profit organization eventually suffer “donor fatigue” – weary of the incessant plea for cash donations from all the causes they support. If your not-for-profit group is searching for a way to raise more money - without having to ask your donors or members to open their wallets yet again - consider hosting a Clubs for the Cause fundraising event:

 

Avid golfers are constantly buying new golf clubs in search of a better game – relegating their existing clubs to the attic or garage. A Clubs for the Cause fundraiser simply asks  your organization’s patrons to donate some of their “no longer in service” golf clubs to your group. 3-Iron Golf will then collect those clubs from you and write your group a check for the aggregate amount of each club’s retail trade-in price*. If your group hosts an annual golf tournament, that’s a perfect time to conduct your collection effort.

 

Many recent year model clubs will fetch as much as $100 or more. Collect a large number of those and your group could earn as much as $3,000 - $5,000 in incremental revenue. How many raffle tickets or boxes of cookie dough would you have to sell to earn that much extra money?

Slow-moving retail inventory:

Local merchants of pre-owned golf clubs rely primarily upon walk-in traffic for sales - a small fraction of the market's population of potential buyers. Because the demand for a used golf club decreases as the club ages, older model clubs not only lose value over time - but also become more difficult to match to walk-in customers.   As a result, many of these clubs simply sit on the showroom floor of the retailer until they someday lose all their value.

 

3-Iron Golf partners with these retailers to promote their inventory of older model clubs more broadly to the huge online shopping market and other purchasers of pre-owned golf clubs - matching these clubs to interested buyers and converting stale, slow-moving inventory  into cash.
